Sage has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and as a tea drunk it has many positive effects on the whole body. Have a look around on the Internet under the keyword "sage"; the list of possible uses is endless. If you decide to drink sage tea regularly - be it for its health benefits or simply because you like it - you can make sage tea yourself.
- Take a look around a well-stocked specialist vegetable store or plant nursery and buy a small sage bush. Set in the garden or in a large pot on the balcony, it will bring you a rich harvest after just a few months.
Making sage tea yourself is easy
- Harvest the sage tea before or after flowering, i.e. in May or September. Unfortunately, sometimes sage is prone to lice. Therefore, carefully inspect the leaves of your sage before harvesting them.
- Snap off the leaves with the secateurs and wash the sage under cold running water water. Shake off the water from the leaves a little and pour them into the cloth bag.
- Now hang the sachet of sage to dry in the sun, on a heater or in a dry room. Depending on the dryness of the air, the sage tea is already dry after one to two days, the leaves should break when bent and crackle like leaves.
- Put the sage tea in a screw-top glass for storage and place the glass as cool and dark as possible.
- If you want to make a sage tea, take about 10-12 dried tea leaves per liter of water, break them a little and put them in a tea strainer. Pour boiling water over the sage and let it sit for approx. Pull for 10 minutes - I'll get it!
