Mother-child cure by the IKK
A lot is demanded of working mothers and fathers these days. But sometimes the children are not doing any better either. The only remedy here may be a mother-child cure. At the IKK it works like this:
Mother-child cure - application
- Get in touch with your competent Health insurance, e.g. B. the IKK, an application for a mother-child cure.
- If your child needs treatment itself, you can apply for a mother-child cure or, if the Separation of mother and child during a spa stay can lead to mental disorders in the child would.
- A mother-child cure applies to children up to 12 years of age, in exceptional cases up to 14 years of age.
- Go to your GP / pediatrician. This person is obliged to fill out the application and enter the relevant clinical pictures.
- Before submitting the application, you should seek advice from a mother and child aid organization.
- You then submit the completed application to your health insurance company.
- In exceptional situations (e.g. B. in the case of cancer), both mother and father can take part in the cure together.

What are the costs of a cure?
- In the case of a mother / father-child cure, the accompanying parent has to pay EUR 10.00 per day. Children do not have to pay an extra contribution.
- The trip to the selected health clinic is covered by the IKK, with the exception of a 10% co-payment, which is a minimum of EUR 5.00 and a maximum of EUR 10.00.
- Your health insurance company will cover the costs of local public transport.
- Depending on the clinical picture, a cure lasts approx. three weeks and can be requested every four years.
Cure options at the IKK
- The IKK works with the Maternal convalescence work close to each other. The facility for your cure will be selected together with your vote.
- In the event of mental overload or somatic disorders, a clinic on the North or Baltic Sea will usually be selected for you.
- After that, you should be able to cope with everyday life again in the best possible way.
