The pane burst in the oven
The oven pane has burst - what to do. In no oven is the pane installed so firmly that it cannot be separated from the door. Each manufacturer uses its own techniques. For removal, if it has burst, or cleaning, the work steps are usually explained in the operating instructions.

- An oven gets hot, the window on the door is designed to withstand the thermal load. The special glass sometimes gets tired after long use. The constant alternation between hot and cold forces molecular structural changes in the glass that used to be or later lead to such strong tension that the window burst one day for no apparent reason is.

- Often the operating instructions for an older oven are no longer available. If you can still find it, the procedure for removing the pane will be explained to you. Without instructions, you have to immerse yourself in the construction and proceed as you see fit.
- The door usually has no visible fastening elements at the front. However, if you find cover plugs or attached veneers there, this indicates the screws underneath.
- Take a good look at the inside of the oven door. A panel always covers the edges of the pane, it must be removed. To do this, it is often necessary to also dismantle the handle. A seal is also held by the cover and must be loosened.
- You should now be able to see the screws that fix the broken pane in the door. Loosen or remove at least two of them and take the old washer out of the holder. Make a note of which side is inside or outside to properly insert the new washer.
- Also pay attention to the position of the levers or rods for the tumblers. The tension springs lose their effectiveness when they are unhooked or adjusted. The assembly is done in reverse order. The new pane must not be pressed too hard, many have already burst during installation!
