Open .dds files

You open Direct Draw Surface .dds files in GIMP through a plug-in.

  1. To do this, download the GIMP plug-in for .dds files. You can find this e.g. B. on the Google code page.
  2. Then you have to unzip the .dds plug-in and copy the files into your GIMP plug-in directory.
  3. Now restart GIMP.
  4. Now you can select .dds via "Save as" and save files in this format.
  5. Opening .dds now also works without any problems by selecting the .dds file in the GIMP open dialog.
