Adobe Photoshop CS5 is available in English after installation. If you have the original German version, the language can be changed during installation. If this is not possible, you can do a little bit of work to change them after the installation.

Import language file from Adobe Photoshop CS4

  1. First you need a German language file. This is copied from the previous version (CS4). You can also use the free trial version for this, the version is available on the operator's website or on all download portals (e.g. chip or computer picture). It is important that you download the German version. Otherwise there is no suitable language file!
  2. You then need to fully install CS4.
  3. The "Locales" folder is located in the main CS4 folder.
  4. The "DE_de" folder is located in this folder. You must make a copy of this file and save this copy on your hard disk cache.

  5. You should then close all of the CS4's folders, no further files are required.

Change the language of Photoshop CS5

  1. The "Locales" folder is also located in the main Adobe Photoshop CS5 folder. You have to open it and delete all language files. Either the file "EN_en" or "GB_gb" is available. If there are other files, you have to make a copy and then delete it as well.
  2. You must now switch to the "Locales" folder from the new version and copy the "DE_de" folder from CS4 into the (Locales) folder, then start the program.

Note: Most of the time, not everything is in German. It is possible that some points are still in English. This is because the German language file from the previous version is used and the subsequent version has newer functions. Unfortunately, you cannot change these language files.
