  1. Blanch half a kilo of tomatoes so that the skin is easier to peel off.

  3. Let the tomato puree simmer on a low flame for about ten minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Puree half a clove of garlic and half an onion for the homemade ketchup.

  8. Depending on your taste, you can refine the ketchup with various spices. Curry, but also basil and tabasco are ideal for this. If you prefer your ketchup to be milder, you can add a little more sugar.
  9. It is best to fill the ketchup into empty jam jars and let it cool down. After that, the ketchup should in the refrigerator be stored.
  10. Since homemade ketchup does not contain any preservatives, you should use it up within a few days if possible.
