- You take the basic position on the skateboard. You can learn how to brake with a skateboard in just a few steps. To do this, place your leading foot at a 90-degree angle on the screws on the front of the board. Place your back foot on the end of the board, i.e. H. on the tail. If your speed is slow, you can now use your back foot to press your tail down. Here's how to brake by dragging your tail across the ground. Be careful, of course you cannot do this at a higher speed. This is just one way of braking. Gradually, you should also master the other ways of braking on the skateboard.
- Ride at a higher speed, just brake with one foot. Place your front foot in the direction of travel and shift your weight on this foot. You take the other foot off the board and place it on the ground after you have dragged the sole over the ground.
- If you are very fast and swaying, you should jump off the board. You have to jump off the board with both feet at the same time. If you ride in the halfpipe or quarterpipe, you should drop on your knee pads and slide across the floor. This will prevent joint fractures and overstretching of the tendons. You can also unroll with a judo roll. In this way you skilfully cushion the impact of a fall and avoid injuries. You should practice falling beforehand, then you will have a safer feeling when driving.
