Your stove grows stone by stone.

What you need:

  • 180 bricks - 20 x 12 cm
  • Gravel mix for the foundation
  • Precast concrete
  • mortar
  • 15 clinker tiles
  • 16 steel bars - 10 x 3 cm
  • Trowel
  • Spirit level
  • Rubber mallet
  • 2 stone slabs of 53 x 60 cm
  • 1 grillage - 39 x 60 cm
  • 1 steel drawer with a 5 cm high rim - 39 x 60 cm

This is how you start building your tarte flambée oven

  1. First create a foundation. To do this, dig a small pit the size of an oven, in our example 130 x 60 cm.
  2. Then fill this with gravel up to a height of 35 cm. Then apply a precast concrete layer up to a height of 15 cm. You pull this off smoothly. Then let everything dry out well.
  3. Now you are building four rows of stones. You have to arrange these in such a way that you wall two outer walls as well as a partition and a rear wall for your tarte flambée oven. The distance between your left outer wall of the oven and the partition wall should each be 54 cm. The distance between the right outer wall and the partition wall should each be exactly 40 cm.

Proceed according to the construction instructions

  1. Our tarte flambée oven impresses with its visible masonry. According to the construction instructions, you should therefore make sure that the furnace joints are nice and even and are approximately 1 cm wide. It is advisable that you wall in the bricks offset. Make sure that you start the first row with a whole brick and the next with half a brick. You always have to apply sufficient mortar. Put the individual bricks in there and knock them in with your rubber mallet. You can easily remove the excess mortar material with the trowel. A spirit level is always helpful here so that your tarte flambée oven comes to a nice level.
  2. When you have built five rows of stones, place two metal rails on the left outer wall of the furnace and on the partition between the furnace. You can simply slide in a shelf there later.
  3. Niche shower - a construction manual

You can easily and cheaply build a niche shower yourself from aerated concrete blocks. Respect, think highly of …

  4. After another row of stones, add two metal rails to the partition and the right outer wall. You will use this later for a charcoal drawer, which is required for heating.
  5. After another four rows, you can wall in the remaining eight steel rails. This creates an additional storage area on the left and a grill grate on the right. You then cover this row of stones with clinker tiles.
  6. Likewise, you brick another two rows on the back wall of the stove. Cover these again with the clinker tiles.

This is how your tarte flambée oven is built according to the instructions. Soon you can heat it up and bake delicious tarte flambée in it. Bon Appetit!
