Build a makeup mirror yourself
Of course you have a bathroom mirror in front of which you can put on make-up. However, the bathroom is not the best place for you. Therefore, find a suitable place in your apartment. Maybe it is the bedroom and build a matching make-up mirror for it, which you can design yourself to suit you.
What you need:
- frame
- Paint and brush (optional)
- Mirror glass
- Magnifying mirror
- Screw hook (optional)
- Decoration material
- Hot glue gun
- small nails
- 2 picture hooks

Applying make-up has become a nuisance because the light in the bathroom is not optimal and permanent feel like you are blocking the bathroom while other family members are happy to shower would. Your own make-up mirror - that's what you need
- Think about the minimum size of your vanity mirror and look for a suitable frame.
- Maybe you still have an old picture frame that you never hang up. You can use this frame wonderfully to build your own make-up mirror yourself. If you no longer have a frame standing around, you can get one at the flea market, hardware store or in a special frame shop. You will definitely find what you are looking for and have the basis to design your make-up mirror the way you like it. If you like it romantic, you should choose a frame that is richly decorated and ornate.
- Of course, you also need matching mirror glass. It is best to go to a specialty store where you can have mirrors cut to the size you want.
- A good makeup mirror gives you at least one extra magnification. If you build the mirror yourself, you can glue an additional magnifying mirror onto the large mirror. You can get simple, round magnifying mirrors in every hardware store in the bathroom department. Please do not confuse it with a hand mirror with a frame. The simple mirror panes have no frame and can be easily attached to the large mirror using the hot glue.
- Of course, your make-up mirror should not only be practical, but also look good. If the frame isn't the right color yet, get water-soluble acrylic paint to paint it.
- Now you should still think about the beautification of the make-up mirror. Visit a craft store and browse to your heart's content. What do you like best? For example, you could cover the frame with colorful sequins, colorful feathers or wooden hearts would also be an option. Whatever you choose, buy enough decoration so that you can cover the frame generously.
- Would you like to hang necklaces or hairbands on the make-up mirror? Then you still need small screw hooks, which you can also get at the hardware store.
- For attaching the magnifying mirror to the large mirror glass and for gluing the decoration you definitely need a hot glue gun on the frame. You can get this practical device cheaply in the craft store or hardware store.

After you've put everything together, you're good to go:
- Should the frame be given a different color? If so, paint it in carefully and let it dry well.
- In the meantime, you can attach the magnifying mirror to the large mirror glass, stick it where it will least disturb you when you want to examine your overall picture. It is therefore best to place it towards the edge of the mirror glass. However, do not glue it too close to the edge so that the frame can be attached later without any problems.
- If the frame is completely dry, lay it upside down on the floor and nail two sturdy picture hooks to the back of the wooden frame. Then put the mirror glass inside.
- Using tiny little nails you put something in the back fold of the frame around the mirror If you turn it at an angle, you will ensure that the mirror cannot fall out of the frame when you turn it turn around. Please proceed very carefully and make sure that you do not damage the mirror film. It is best to use a small hammer. Then carefully turn the mirror around and test that the mirror glass hangs tightly in the frame.
- Now comes the best work: decorating your make-up mirror. Glue the sequins or feathers onto the frame using the hot glue. Take a few steps back and look at your work from a distance.
- When the decoration of the frame is finished, turn the screw hooks for hanging the necklaces on the left and right into the frame wood. Your make-up mirror is ready.
