What you need:

  • Air Water heatpump
  • unheated interior
  • Soundproofing outside
  • Dirt filter

How to Install Your Air-to-Water Heat Pump Properly

  • The air-to-water heat pump can be installed inside or outside your house. Earthworks, excavations or drilling are not necessary for this. Note the manufacturer's information on the different requirements of the locations.
  • The room in which the air-to-water heat pump works should not be heated. Storage rooms and cellars are therefore ideal for installation.
  • Choose a large room for the air-to-water heat pump. The air ducts are usually not flexible. To make the pump easy to maintain, do not place it too close to room walls.
  • Make sure that the location is regularly ventilated. This creates less condensation. Ventilate the room additionally in damp weather.
  • If you are installing the pump outdoors, choose a perfectly level surface. The parking space must be stable and always free from ground frost. Place the pump as close as possible to the house entrance, preferably on a concrete base. Lay the cables as quickly as possible and provide all pipes with suitable thermal insulation.

  • With an outdoor pump, discharge cold air and supply air separately. In this way you avoid higher energy consumption due to mixing of the air.
  • Protect suction and exhaust valves with dirt filters. You can also attach this protection to an air-to-water heat pump indoors.
  • If it is installed outside, put soundproofing around your pump. So your neighbors are not bothered by the work noise.

Wait for the airwater-Heat pump not itself. Order a specialist for the maintenance intervals. Maintenance workshops in the region can be found in the operating instructions or on the guarantee certificate for the pump.

The air-to-water heat pump effectively uses available air

  • An air-to-water heat pump works by drawing in air from the great outdoors, which is then warmed up inside the house. This heated air is able to heat both utility and service water.
  • This means that various components in the house can be heated with air: hot water, swimming pool, underfloor heating, central heating
  • After the warmed up air has warmed up the water, the air is cooled down again in a ventilation system and transported outside
  • Will operate current needed. However, the figures show that the use of an air-to-water heat pump is always worthwhile: With a drive energy of 25 percent, the remaining 75 percent is produced.
  • Thanks to the latest technologies, this heating system can even function in sub-zero temperatures of up to 25 degrees Celsius. A defrosting system is used for this purpose, which automatically switches on when the device that sucks in air freezes and frees it from the ice again. This guarantees sensible use of the pump over the entire year.

Warming with a pump - some information

  • Installation in a new building is of course much easier than it is in an existing house. Because in the latter case, this innovative heating system must be connected to the existing heating system. On the other hand, this can also result in advantages if there is underfloor heating in the house. This would then also be heated with the warmed-up air and the central heating could continue to be heated with gas or oil, for example. However, depending on the size of the house and the performance of the selected air-water heat pump, everything can be operated with it.
  • The air-to-water heat pump is connected to a water tank that is used for both domestic and industrial water. Modern manufacturers can separate both types of use in one tank.
  • It is also possible to integrate this heat pump into a solar system or a wood boiler.
