The usual dimensions for a king-size bed are 190 x 203 cm, which corresponds to the mattress dimensions customary in the USA.

In accordance with our usual standards, your bed should measure 180 x 200 cm. Then you can fall back on the mattresses and slatted frames available from us.

1. Build a stable frame from solid wooden boards, which has the internal dimensions 181 x 201 cm and approx. Is 35 cm high. Many people find the greater height more comfortable because it makes it easier to get up.

2. Attach strips to the inside of this box that run parallel to it about 5 cm below the edge. Screw the strips tightly, preferably one screw every 5 cm.
3. Fasten a solid wood board in the middle of the 181 cm boards, which is vertical and flush with the height of the strips. This board supports the slatted frame in the middle.

4. If you want, screw a 90 cm high board to the head end and a 50 cm high board to the foot end of the bed. Since these parts are not required for the stability of the bed, you can design them as you like and easily change them later.
5. Obtain that wood with the carpet or glaze it with a non-toxic glaze in a color that you like.

Preparations for the box bed conversion

• In order not to have to build a completely new bed, you can easily convert the existing bed to bring joy to the King in bed. However, it should be a box bed that can be placed freely.
• You need a wooden board with a height of 100 cm and the width of the existing bed.
• You can replace the required wooden balls with styrofoam balls, but these can be damaged very easily.

Converting the bed - the work steps

1. You need the large wooden board and the wooden posts in front of the Assembly Deburr well to avoid the risk of injury.
2. You should paint the wooden board in the same color as the bed frame.
3. Then attach the board to the head of the bed.
4. Draw a crown on the small wooden board, which you saw out with a jigsaw. After that, you should deburr the crown and paint it with yellow lacquer paint.
5. When the paint has dried, mount it with the metal rails in the middle of the large board.
