Bed without a frame - this is how you build it yourself

What you need:

• 2 glued wood beams, 200 x 10 x 10 cm
• 4 glued wood beam sections 10 x 10 x 10 cm
• Emery paper
• 1 roll-up slatted frame, width as required
• 1 roll mattress, dto.
• 1 mattress protector, dto.
• Drill with long wood drill
• Screws
• Cordless screwdriver
• or screwdriver

If you build a bed without a frame, you can get by with a few components. You can have the required glued wood cut to size in the hardware store. You can get mattresses and mattress protectors cheaply in every major furniture store or even from Discount stores.

This is how your bed is created without a frame

1. First deburr the sawed edges of all glued wood blanks with emery paper.
2. Then place two of the short pieces of glue approx. 2 m as bed feet on the floor.
3. Place one of the long beams on it so that the beam is either flush with the feet at both ends or at the same distance (up to approx. 3 cm).

4. Use the drill to drill straight through the upper beam at both ends into the bed leg.

5. Screw the bar on both feet of the bed. Now repeat the whole thing with the remaining pieces of glue.
6. You have now finished the two side parts for your bed without a frame! Set them up parallel to each other at a distance equal to the width of your roll-up grille.
7. Now carefully place the slatted frame on one of the "front sides" of the bed and carefully roll it off without the sides of the bed falling over.
8. Now first screw the upper and lower slats to the right and left of the side parts (pay attention to the correct "tension"!), Then all the others. You don't necessarily need to pre-drill the relatively thin softwood slats, but without a cordless screwdriver it can be quite exhausting.
9. Now place the mattress protector and the roll-up mattress (ideally unpacked the day before) on the grid, and your new bed without a frame is ready!
