Where to find the living lucky charms

When looking for ladybirds you can find them almost anywhere, because they can be found both in nature and in the middle of the city.

• You can find the crawling animals, which are extremely popular in Germany, for example in the grass of meadows, parks and gardens.
• Also in forests, moors and hedgerows are Ladybug home.
• You can also see the animals on house walls, park benches or in the middle of the sidewalk.

Anyone looking for ladybirds should therefore simply go through the world with open eyes during the warm season from around March to October. In winter the animal withdraws and can no longer be found.

More facts about the ladybug

• The ladybug is found all over the world. There are a total of around 4000 different species of these animals, in Germany there are around 80.
• Characteristic of many of these Beetle are the points on the wings. However, they are not always to be found, as is the case with the Australian ladybug. Here one recognizes the species affiliation purely optically, especially by the typical, strongly spherical body shape bent upwards.
• By the way, the dots of the ladybugs are an unchangeable drawing and say nothing about the age of the animal. In Germany, for example, the so-called seven-point ladybird is very often found, each of which has three and a half points per wing - but like all its conspecifics, this one only gets around three Year old.
• Of course, in order for ladybugs to reach this age, they need to eat enough food. Here the carnivorous animals prefer especially scale or aphids, which makes them useful helpers in the garden.
