Use the underhand grip to learn how to serve properly

The lower handle is probably the most popular handle for serving plates properly. It is suitable for any type of dish on any type of plate. Once you have understood the principle of the underhand grip and the implementation has been successful, you can serve at least 3 to 6 plates at once.

  1. Like everything else that requires skill, the underhand grip can only be learned and perfected with a lot of practice. First, however, learn the correct position of your finger or hand. It is important that the forearm points away from the upper body at a 90 ° degree, i.e. at a right angle.
  2. Rotate your hand so that the wrist is facing up. Loosely spread your thumb to the left. The index finger and middle finger are slightly stretched forward and loosely stretched downwards. The ring finger and the little finger are a bit lower. Have someone demonstrate this to you who has already mastered the underhand grip.
  3. Now, when you have the correct posture and manage to carry two plates with your left hand without using your forearm or wrist as an important support, practice this grip. The easiest exercise for this is to take two large plates in your left hand and one in your right hand.
  4. Then try to cover a distance of at least 20 meters and then place the plates on a table. If this succeeds without accidents, take your soup bowls and fill them with you water and place them together with the saucer on your so-called "carrier plate".
  5. Serve correctly - this is how you serve guests in style

Who doesn't like to invite friends and relatives to dinner? The menu is ready, the board ...

  6. Now you have the same task to do. The difference this time, however, is that you have to transport a significant amount of weight. In addition, you must not spill a drop of water during this exercise.

Once you have successfully performed these two exercises a few times, the only thing left to do is to learn to properly serve the underhand grip with more than two plates in your left hand.
