Use the wall paint sprayer correctly

You have probably asked yourself many times whether you can simply spray paint on the wall instead of applying it with a paint roller or brush. That's not a problem with a wall paint sprayer.

Use the correct sprayer.
Use the correct sprayer.

What you need:

  • Sprayer
  • Wall paint
  • water
  • Washing-up liquid

The choice of sprayer

  • Wall paint has quite large color pigments and a certain amount of substance must be applied. Because of this, you must be careful to only use wall paint sprayers.
  • You can also forget about spraying devices that call themselves a “fine spray system” or are only suitable for thin paints. Heavily diluted wall paint contains hardly any pigments and there would be no covering paint.
  • So be sure to use a sprayer for emulsion paint.

Correct use of paint syringes

  • Read the instructions for use and be sure to follow the instructions for thinning the paint or what consistency the color may have. Paint that is too thick leads to frequent clogging of the sprayer, paint that is too thin does not cover properly.
  • Mix the paint according to the instructions. It is important that the color is really evenly mixed. It is best to use an electric mixer. If you think that the paint is now properly mixed and evenly thinned, stir for another ten minutes. Then you can be sure that there will be no more lumps clogging the device.
  • Wall paint for inside - you should pay attention to this when buying

  • Be careful with paint residues in the bucket! There is often dried paint on the walls of the bucket, flakes of it fall into the paint and do not dissolve. The flakes clog the sprayer and you have to keep cleaning the sprayer as you work. It is better to use fresh paint for the sharpener. Keep leftovers in a clean bucket that has a tight-fitting lid. This will prevent paint drying on the edge of the bucket and making the paint unusable for spray equipment.
  • Do not interrupt the work. Because with these interruptions, the paint hardens in the nozzle and you then have to clean the device first before you can continue working with the spray device.

Clean sprayer after work

  1. Pour the rest of the paint into a bucket. It makes sense to clamp the paint container with the opening facing downwards with a piece of cardboard over the bucket and wait until no more paint drips out. Make sure, however, that the paint does not dry out in the paint container.
  2. Fill the container with water and dish soap and wash off the remaining paint. Let the remaining paint run out of the tube.
  3. Now fill the container with water and washing-up liquid again and put it back into the device. Inject the container empty by turning the device on on a low level. This is how the water flushes the paint out of the sprayer.
  4. If required, disassemble the sprayer and clean the individual parts as directed in the instructions for use. Rinse the paint container until there is no more foam. Fill it with water and squirt water through the sprayer for a few more minutes. Then it is ready for further use.
