Build a telescopic ramp for a wheelchair

How the telescopic ramp works

  • Obtain a square material that is almost completely closed, it only has to be slotted on one side. To do this, you need a second square that can be pushed into the former. If necessary, a pipe that does not have too much play in the square will do.
  • The load-bearing capacity of both parts of a telescopic ramp must be so great that they can safely bear the weight of the wheelchair and driver when they are only 1/3 put together. Both pipe systems each carry a platform that can be pushed over one another, thus making the telescopic effect possible.

  • In general, each part of the telescopic ramp is about half the extension in length. Between the upper, stronger part and the lower part, a small step is formed due to the design, but this is not a serious obstacle. When pushed together, the levels are close together.
