The Milchschnitte cake is an absolute hit, especially with children, because this cake looks like a giant Milchschnitte. In terms of taste, the cream is also reminiscent of the filling of the popular snack, however it tastes much fresher and so delicious that even grown-up people with a sweet tooth cannot get enough of it can.

What you need:

  • For the dough:
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 2 cups of flour (use the empty sour cream cup as a unit of measurement)
  • 2 p. baking powder
  • 5 eggs
  • 300 g butter or margarine
  • 240 g of sugar
  • 5 tbsp cocoa (no instant powder)
  • For the cream:
  • 2 cups of whipped cream, well chilled
  • 2 p. Cream stiffener
  • 2-3 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 p. vanilla sugar

First, prepare the dough

  1. For the dough will the Eggs Whipped together with the butter and sugar until frothy.
  2. Then stir in the sour cream.
  3. Mix the flour with the baking powder and cocoa and carefully stir everything into the butter mixture until a smooth dough is formed. It is important that you only stir as long as necessary.
  4. Spread the dough evenly on two baking sheets lined with baking paper and bake them one after the other at 180 degrees Celsius (preheated) for about 15 minutes. Then both floors have to cool down.

Filling the milk cake - the final steps

  1. For the cream, whip the well-chilled cream with the cream stiffener and let the vanilla sugar trickle in. If possible, you should use a good vanilla sugar, for example with real bourbon vanilla, because this gives the cream a wonderful aroma.

  3. Finally, stir in the sour cream, then the cream is ready.
  4. Now spread the finished cream onto one of the cake bases. The surface should be as smooth as possible.
  5. Place the second floor on top and press it down a little. If you like it very chocolatey, you can coat the top base with chocolate icing.
  6. The milk cake has to rest in a cool place for several hours, preferably overnight. Then the cream is firm enough. Complete!
