Sew sun protection for the patio cover yourself
Are you missing sun protection on your patio roof? You can sew a kind of awning or awning yourself from fabric, which you can use flexibly.
If it gets too hot under the patio cover in summer, sitting outside is no fun. Provide shade with a self-sewn sun protection that you hardly have to sew at all!
How to sew sun protection for your patio cover
The example refers to an area of approx. 3 m length and approx. 1.50 m width.
- Attach the steel cables (actually complete sets for hanging curtains) at a distance of 1.50 m parallel to each other on your patio roof below the cover.
- Sew the cotton fabric approx. 0.5 to 1 cm around (overcast). You do not need to overcast the sides as the fabric has a selvedge that does not fray.
- With the clips belonging to the cable system (12 pieces per cable) you can now clip the length of fabric at regular intervals of approx. 25 cm left and right on the steel cables.
- Now you can slide the track open or close, as required, and thus regulate the incidence of light.
- If you need a wider or longer sun protection, use several systems next to each other, which you can then open to different widths and longer lengths of fabric. Both the rope system and the fabric are very cheap.
- The length of fabric can simply be removed for washing and clipped on again later.
