Multiples of 2 - that's how it's done

  • The word "multiple" sounds strange at first. However, this is actually just a simple multiplication problem.
  • For example, if the multiple of 2 is to be calculated or formed, the number 2 is multiplied by the natural number one after the other Counting 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. This gives the set of multiples (of 2), namely 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. Those who know the times tables will know this amount as two times tables. At the same time, these are the even numbers.
  • Similarly, you can form the multiple of any other natural number.

"Boom" - a math game about multiples of numbers

"Multiple" offers itself in the area of Basic arithmetic and multiplication tables as a watch and practice game. The rules go like this:

  1. First, a kind of secret or code word is agreed in the playgroup. For example, this could simply be called "boom".
  2. Recognizing prime numbers - this is how the sieve of Eratosthenes works

Anyone who likes to work with numbers will immediately know which of the available ...

  3. Then the game master determines a number, for example the "7" (where of course the 1 x 7 is practiced).
  4. Then it is counted in turn (in the natural numbers).
  5. Whenever a multiple of the agreed number has to be said, the respective participant is not allowed to say this number, but simply says "boom". At "7" the first "boom" would be heard, at "14" the second.
  6. So you have to be careful, because if you say the multiple anyway, you are thrown out of the game round - until the multiple king remains.

The math game becomes more difficult if you have to say "boom" in addition to the multiples also for combinations with this number. For example, if the agreed number is "7", then you have to say "boom" at 35, but also at 17, 27 and 117 (if you get that far at all). So watch out as hell with this game.
