Open EML file does not work
If you suddenly have an EML file on your computer and don't know what to do with it, this is usually not one Virus and even less of a problem: these are e-mails that were previously saved and that you can easily open can.
To open EML files
- First of all, you will Outlook Need Express or Windows Live Mail. The latter is the successor to Outlook Express and was designed for Windows 7 designed, but can also be used for Vista or XP without any problems. - If you have any of these programs, find and open the appropriate files. To do this, simply double-click the desired file and the email will be displayed to you.
- When opening the program for the first time or if the program path may have been changed, you simply have to select the appropriate program using the open with function and "set it as default". The standard option helps you avoid looking for your program every time.
If you have the Windows-If you try to search for EML files, you can also search for the corpses of files that may still be lying around with you.
Other ways of opening EML files
- If the double-click does not work, you may have to set the appropriate option in the folder options first.
- Otherwise you first have the option of only displaying the text. This can be done by opening the file in the editor.
- You can also open EML files directly in your browser. Here you may have to change the file extension from EML to HTML.
