Create a 3D effect in Paint.net
The free image editing program Paint. NET is not only easy to use, but also has lots of free plugins that make sense to expand the range of functions. This includes the Shape3D extension, with which you can achieve impressive 3D effects.
Paint plugins. NET install
Paint. NET offers you the opportunity to expand the basic software with useful plugins in order to have more or better functions and effects.
- In the menu area "Help" you have the item "Plugins", which you can use to get to the English community of Paint. NET, which you can then browse through useful plugins. There you will either find a direct download link or a link to the website of the respective programmer. This is either a DLL file or a ZIP file, which in turn contains the DLL file.
- You can then use the standard program from Windows unzip (right click and "Extract all") or a free tool such as Use 7-ZIP.
- Simply installing the plug-in is then child's play. All you need to do is move the DLL file to the Effects folder in the Paint installation folder. NET, and Paint. NET restart if necessary. If you no longer need a plug-in, you can in principle just as easily remove it by simply deleting the corresponding DLL file and the software start anew.

- Once you have Paint. NET, open your desired photo and click under "Effects" in the "Render" area on the "Shape3D" option.
- Now the extremely extensive configuration window of the extension opens. In the upper area of the window, determine which object shape you want to use. You can choose between the basic shapes cube ("box"), cylinder ("cylinder") and sphere ("sphere").
- You then have the option of adjusting the size of your property according to your wishes.
- Then change the rotation of your object underneath if you don't like it yet. Logically, you have three axes ("Axis") at your disposal, with which you can rotate your 3D object as you wish. You also have the option of adjusting the camera angle and the transparency of the object.
- Finally, you should also adjust the exposure. To activate this, you only need to check the "On" box under "Lighting" and then click under among other things the luminosity ("Strength of Light"), the direction ("Direction") and the color (via RGB) of the light adjust.
- Save your changes by going to "Save as" under "File" and entering a new file name so that you do not overwrite the original image.
