  3. These are the measurements for the length and width according to which you will cut the fabric.
  4. The fabric should be very stretchy, jersey, stretch or stretchy wool is best.

  7. Sewing is always done on the "left", that is, with the inside out.
  8. sew The fabric for the strapless top together on the long side. Use the overlock stitch on your sewing machine for this.
  9. This seam is in the center of the back of the strapless top.

Sew the elastic for a strapless top

  1. An elastic band is incorporated so that it holds well and does not slip.
  2. To do this, sew a drawstring on the top that is slightly wider than the elastic band and leave the seam 1 cm open.
  3. Please do not cut the rubber yet so that you can still adjust it if it is too tight or too wide.
  4. Use a safety pin to pull the elastic through the tunnel and knot it at the ends.
  5. Try on the strapless top. If it doesn't slip or constrict you, it's perfect.
  6. Now the rubber is cut off at the ends and the knot is properly tightened.
  7. Sew up the open area on the drawstring.
  8. Now only sew the top inwards at the hem (possibly twice, then it looks neater) and you're ready to put it on.

Tips for a strapless top

  • Those who like to sew can of course make a strapless top from two parts (front and back) and decorate it with ruffles or ribbons.
  • It is always good to just baste the seams first, that is, to sew by hand in simple stitches. So you can try it on and, if necessary, quickly cut the seams again.
  • The sewing silk should be the same color as the fabric, but can also create a color contrast as a visual highlight.
