How to find this Facebook feature

The live ticker is one of the newest FacebookFunctions. It shows you the most recent actions of your friends and keeps you constantly up to date in real time. But what is this live ticker and where can you find it?

1. Log in to Facebook and look at your homepage. Depending on your personal settings, the live ticker can be found in two different places.
2. If you have enlarged your chat bar on the right vertical bar of your start page, you should look for the live ticker there. It is located in the upper half of the chat bar, directly above the contacts who are currently online. Hold the mouse pointer on the dividing line between these two areas and drag while holding Mouse button either up or down to adjust their size in relation to your liking change.
3. However, if you prefer the smaller version of the Facebook chat, your live ticker is located directly on the home page. If you look at the right half of this page, you will find this function above your current events, the birthdays of your friends and the Facebook-internal advertising.

How to use the live ticker

• In the live ticker you can see the latest updates from your friends as well as their comments on their friends' contributions. Move the mouse pointer over the respective article and it will appear in more detail in a box to the left of the live ticker. If this view is still not enough for you, you can also click on the respective friend here and view the full length of the post on their page.

• The live ticker always shows you the latest reports from your friends, regardless of their importance. This means that details that are unimportant to you, such as FarmVille notifications or new friendships, may also be shown at the top at a certain point in time.
• So if you only want to see the most important and interesting activities of your friends, it is better for you to consult the timeline in the middle column of your home page. After all, only the main messages of your contacts displayed. The further back you go here, the greater the likelihood that you will only get the information that actually interests you.
• The live ticker, on the other hand, is a good tool to be provided with the latest news quickly at first glance. Always keep an eye on it and you will never miss an important message from your friends again!
