Chat via Facebook is popular, but sometimes it doesn't work out as desired.

• If you use the FacebookChat want to use and the chat window does not open, leave Facebook and try again a little later, this often helps and the problem is solved.

• Sometimes it is also necessary to close and restart the browser in order to open the chat window.

• If you are using an older browser, download the latest version; often it is also the old browser version.

Major problems with the chat window

If the above measures do not help and the problem persists, then use the Facebook help.

• You can access the offer of help by clicking on the gear wheel in the upper right corner and then selecting the keyword “Help”. Another option is to scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you will also find a link to the relevant offer. Then click on "Report a problem". From the various options listed on the left-hand side of the following page, select "Report a bug".

• On the “Report a bug” page you will find the link “Chat”, among other things. Under "Problems loading the chat" you can notify us if the window loads but closes or minimizes in between. If it does not open at all, scroll down to the end of the list, there you have the option of reporting problems that are not listed above via another link. Describe your problem as precisely and clearly as possible.

• If necessary, send a screenshot. You can do this with Windows by pressing the Print S-Abf key on your PC, then opening the paint program and clicking on "Insert". After that, all you have to do is save the screenshot, it is best to save it as a jpg. If you have a notebook, you have to press the "PRTSCSYSRQ" key, which is located in the top row, relatively far to the right. The rest works the same way as with the PC. Most of the time, however, you can easily resolve problems with the chat window yourself.
