Google colors and the meaning

A blue G, a red O, followed by a yellow O, then a blue G, a green L and at the end there is a red E. This together results in the colorful logo of Google. Is it just a nice mix of colors or do the colors also mean something?

• Google is the most common Search engine around the world. If you enter a term in the search bar, you will get an infinite number of results within a fraction of a second.
• The forerunner "Back Rub" was launched in 1996. Two years later the search engine is then on the market under the name "Google".
• Google is a search engine of the American company "Google Incorporated". The founders of Google are Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

What is the meaning of Google's colors?

Blue, green, red and yellow are the main colors of Lego blocks. Of course there are now other colors at Lego, but mainly a normal Lego set consists of these colors. And these Lego bricks have a special meaning for Google's colors

• When Google was founded, the inventors Larry Page and Sergey Brin built the computer cases from the colorful Lego bricks. The housing was then covered with glass plates to stabilize it.
• Meanwhile, the computer cases are of course made of higher quality material and processed more professionally. But the colors were retained by Google, so that the logo consists of blue, green, red and yellow.
• The first logo from Google is provided with these colors and to this day nothing has changed. Google changes its logo almost every day, but the default emblem still has the same colors.
Who the Doodles - that's what Google calls its changing emblems - when you look at Google, you notice that the Lego brick colors appear in almost all doodles.
• Red, blue and yellow count as the three basic colors in color theory. All other colors can be mixed from these colors. Green is created by mixing blue and yellow, so it is a secondary color. Not only Lego bricks, but also most other children's toys consist of the three basic colors and green. All the colors from these four main colors are also mixed in the printer cartridge. So these colors often appear in everyday life.
• Some scientists also consider green to be one of the primary colors. Base this theory on the fact that the human eye has three different cone sizes, each of which is a type of receptor for a particular color. The S-type as a blue receptor, the M-type as a green receptor and the L-type as a red receptor.
• The color combination has a very neutral meaning. For example, if the logo were pink, red, and purple, it would look very girly. You usually associate something with other color combinations - albeit unconsciously. But since the color combination of the Google logo is so neutral, not much is associated with it at the moment.

The colors are not chosen arbitrarily, but have a meaning for the founders. For many years, Google has remained true to its founding colors. Even if you often see unusual logos that also contain other colors - the logo with the standard colors from Google will probably appear again and again.
