Glue the parchment lantern together - this is how it's done

  1. When the sheet of parchment paper is dry, tape it around the bottom half of the cheese box.
  2. Now cut a hole in the lid of the cheese box, where the candle or lantern stick will find space afterwards.
  3. Now glue the cheese box lid to the top of the lantern.
  4. Use a hole punch to make two holes in the top of the cardboard edge and attach the craft wire to it. This will later serve as a holder for the lantern stick.
  5. The lantern should now dry for another 2 hours and is then ready.

If your child is still very young, it is better not to use real candles. The use of an electric lantern stick or an LED tea light makes sense here. This is less dangerous than real candles and ensures innocent lantern fun at St. Martin.
