VIDEO: Make a key fob with felt strips - that's how it works

You can easily make a key fob or lanyard out of a strip of felt. You can then design the tape individually by sticking or writing on it.

How to make a key ring out of strips of felt

1. Use the ruler and a pencil to draw a strip of approx. 30 x 2 cm on the felt on.
2. Using contour scissors, cut out the felt strip along the drawn line.
3. You can get contour scissors with a wave pattern, a zigzag pattern or a mix of both patterns.
4. Now take another piece of felt in a different color and cut out another strip of felt from it, but this time it is 2 cm shorter and 1 cm narrower.

5. You can cut out this smaller strip using the same scissors pattern.
6. Spread a thin layer of liquid glue on the back and stick the small felt strip evenly onto the larger one.
7. When the glue has dried and the felt strips stick together well, you can start decorating.

How to decorate the felt strips

1. Now you can of course decorate the felt strip. To do this, glue colored beads or small wooden beads onto the middle strip.
2. The outer edge, i.e. the part that looks out from the large felt strip on the sides, can be embellished with a glitter pen or you can glue small pearls and rhinestones onto it.
3. You can also write a name on it and then you have a nice present for a friend.

This is how the felt strip becomes a key ring

1. When all the glued areas have dried well and the beads have also been glued correctly, then of course you still have to connect the ends of the felt strip to one another.
2. To do this, fold the felt strip in the middle so that the decorated part faces outwards.
3. Now take the key ring and turn it evenly through both ends of the felt.

Now you have a nice key fob to attach to your keychain.
