Ant plague in the kitchen
An ant plague in the kitchen is very unpleasant. The small insects find refuge under ledges and in wooden floors and even get into sugar containers without any problems.
Sometimes it can happen that an ant is in the kitchen runs and until you even notice it, this one insect has brought its helpers and they are looking for treats from you. If you have an ant plague in the kitchen, do something quickly before the animals nest with you.
This is how you get rid of the plague of ants
- Track down how the ants get into your kitchen. If you find ants on the window sill, they are likely to come into the kitchen through the window. Glue a fly screen to the window to block access.
- See where the ants path is in your kitchen and follow it all the way to the ant burrow. Place bait boxes right on the path and in front of the ants' hideout.
- Sprinkle baking soda on the ant path. The ants will eat it and die on it.
- If you can't get the plague under control, remove all open food and pets from your kitchen and spray insect repellent in the ants shelter. The kitchen must then remain closed for about 30 to 45 minutes and then be well ventilated.

How to prevent ants in the kitchen
- Never leave open food like this. Pack them airtight in plastic cans.
- Spilled sugar and other leftover food should be cleaned up immediately. If possible, the ants should not find anything they like in your kitchen.
- Notice an ant trail leading into your kitchen, follow it outside and see where it begins. At this point you can set up bait boxes or flood the ant burrow with vinegar water.
Unfortunately, it is not that easy to destroy an ant path in your home. Do the insects once you have a path, you will always walk it. You can stave off the plague of ants in the kitchen though by all of them window block with mosquito nets. the Ants will soon find another way.
