The new VW Golf 7
The Golf is VW's successful model, now also in the seventh generation. The new Golf 7 will be available in more variants than ever before, and a convertible and an R variant are also planned.
The basic engines of the Golf 7 are very economical
- For the first time, the basic engine consists of petrol engines with a small displacement and turbocharging. A 1.2 liter with 105 hp and a 1.4 liter with either 122 or 140 hp are used. This makes gasoline engines almost as economical as diesels.
- In the case of the diesel engines, the 2.0 liter remains, which in the new Golf 7 has 150 HP instead of the 140 HP, as well as a 1.6 liter engineas it has already been tested in the Golf 6. In the new Golf 7 GTD, the 2.0 liter diesel will bring 180 hp to the front axle.
Golf Plus, Variant and the Cabrio expand the range
- The Golf Plus and the Variant will again complement the range of everyday vehicles, but the Plus will be a bit sportier than its predecessor. The Variant is growing a little, the trunk will have more volume than its predecessor.
- The Cabriolet will also be slightly larger than its predecessor and will definitely replace the Eos with a folding roof. However, the convertible will not have a folding roof, but rather the classic fabric roof. There will also be a GTI and even an R version.
The new sporty models come a little later
- The Golf 7 will also set standards in terms of sportiness. The new GTI will get the well-known 2.0 liter turbo, but it will now produce 230 hp, making it the most powerful regular GTI of all time. However, all-wheel drive will not be available to order as an option.
Golf 6 GTI - technical data
The Golf GTI has been inspiring fans of sporty driving for decades. It stayed that way ...
- An R version with all-wheel drive and 300 hp will mark the top of the Golf and the new one VW-Make compact class the strongest series golf ever. A 2.0 liter with a large turbocharger is used. An RS variant with a 2.5 liter five-cylinder is still in the stars.
