Bake the Viennese cake base yourself

Ingredients:
- 30 g butter
- 3 eggs
- 2 tbsp hot water
- 125 g of sugar
- 1 pck. vanilla sugar
- 125 g wheat flour
- 1 st. Teaspoon baking powder
Original Viennese biscuit dough
- First, put the butter in a small saucepan and let it melt on the stove. Once this is done, set the butter aside and let it cool down.
- Next, preheat the oven. With top / bottom heat this is 180 °, with circulating air 160 °. Then grease a springform pan with a diameter of 26 cm well.
- Now the dough Prepared for the Viennese cake base: Take a bowl and add the Eggs in there. Also add the hot water. Beat this with a hand mixer approx. Frothy for 1 minute.
- Now add the sugar and vanilla sugar to the egg mixture. Mix everything again for 1 minute until the sugar is stirred in. After that, you need to beat the dough again for another 2 minutes.
- Then mix the flour with the baking powder and add this to the dough. Stir it in briefly on the low, then on the highest speed until a smooth dough is formed.
- Now add the melted butter to the dough and stir well.

The classic cake base
- Put the batter in the springform pan that you greased. Make sure you smooth out the dough.
- Put the springform pan in the oven, in the lower third, and leave the cake base for approx. Bake for 30 minutes.
- After the baking time, loosen the Viennese cake base from the mold and turn it out onto a grid with baking paper. Let the cake base cool down first.
- After cooling, cut the cake base horizontally once in the middle. You can then process it further.
