Create HTML file with Word

The easiest way to get an HTML file from a Word-Create a document by doing this directly from Microsoft Word.

  1. To do this, you would first have to start Microsoft Word on your computer and then call up the Word document that you want to convert.
  2. Depending on which version of Word you are using, you should either click on "File" or on the Microsoft button and then select "Save As".
  3. Now specify the desired target directory where you want to save the HTML file and optionally give this file a different name.
  4. Then select the option "Website, filtered" under the file name under "File type".
  5. Create news ticker for homepage - that's how it works

If you want to add a news ticker function to your homepage, you can do this ...

  6. Now you could enter a title underneath, which will then be displayed in the web browser in the respective tab, for example in helpster "Instructions on helpster". To set the title, all you have to do is click on the "Change title" button, enter the text and press the Enter key.
  7. Finally you just have to click on "Save".

Your Word file will then be saved in HTML format. In your Word file, for example, you should have pictures inserted, a folder is created in addition to the HTML file in which the images are saved. The folder is then named similar to the file name of your HTML file (for example "Website files" for the HTML file "Website.html").

Convert Word file online

If you don't have Microsoft Word on your computer installed, you can also convert Word files online to an HTML file or can be converted into HTML code.

  • For example, to get a finished HTML file, you can use the website Online convert to use. All you have to do is select your Word file under "Upload your document ..." and then use the "Convert file" button. The conversion then begins and the finished HTML file is then downloaded to your computer either directly as an HTML file or as a ZIP file. A ZIP file would be created, for example, if you inserted images within your Word document.
  • If you only need the HTML code for a text written in Word, you can do this quickly and easily on the website, for example Word to HTML do. You would then only have to copy the Word text, paste it into the text field and click on "Convert to clean html" at the bottom right. Shortly thereafter, the respective HTML code appears, which you can then insert into your HTML file.
