If you want to send your Maxi letter insured and at the same time prefer the advantage of fast delivery, you can choose express mail.

1. Check that your maxi letter is at least 100 mm long and 70 mm wide.
2. For express mail, your letter must not be longer than 353 mm, not wider than 250 mm and not thicker than 50 mm.
3. The express letter is generally insured for up to 500 euros if it is lost or the contents are damaged during transport. If the content is worth more than 500 euros, you can insure the express letter by paying a surcharge of up to 2,500 euros or even up to 25,000 euros.
4. In order to actually be reimbursed for the loss or damage, you must in any case be able to present the receipted posting receipt. As soon as you have received it on posting, keep it in a safe place.

5. If you want to make sure that your shipment arrives at the recipient on time, you can use the shipment tracking function to track your maxi letter. The number required for this can be found on the posting receipt.

Parcel instead of maxi letter

A parcel delivery is an alternative to the express letter. With this you can send the contents of your maxi letter insured.

• The costs, the permissible dimensions and the permissible weight of your parcel depend on the respective parcel service. A comparison of the different providers is always worthwhile.
• If you want to keep the effort low, look for a parcel station that you can reach quickly and cheaply.
• Most parcel service providers offer insured shipping for up to 500 euros. The transport insurance is part of the delivery and does not cause any separate costs.
• Also in the case of a parcel delivery, keep the posting receipt so that you have proof of the delivery of your parcel in the event of loss or damage.
