The chests in the supermarket are of course full of all kinds of ice cream, but - depending on the quality - they are not exactly cheap. Try making ice cream yourself. The vanilla parfait described here is even suitable as a dessert for a special menu.

Ingredients:

  • 125 g powdered sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cl Cointreau
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • ½ liter of cream
  • 2-3 handfuls of ice cubes
  • Water bath: 1 metal bowl plus matching saucepan
  • Cold stirring: the above metal bowl plus a slightly larger bowl
  • Whisk
  • Whipped cream: mixer and mixing bowl

How to prepare the vanilla parfait

If you are not yet familiar with the water bath method and cold stirring on ice cubes, read the following instructions carefully before you begin.   8. Then cut open the vanilla pod and scratch the pulp directly into the mass. Stir in the Cointreau.
  9. Whip the cream separately in the mixing bowl until stiff and fold it into the vanilla mixture.

If necessary, freeze the ice in portions
