Beton Ciré is a concrete floor layer specially mixed with synthetic resin milk for living or living Bathroom area that is waterproof and by impregnating and sealing against stains or changes in color is protected. You can also do this modern type of floor design yourself.

With Beton Ciré you can walls, Floors, kitchen countertops and many other things modern and stylish. In principle, this material can be used in all living areas. Doing it yourself is not that difficult if you have manual skills.

This is how you prepare the substrate by doing it yourself

  1. First clean the floor for the Beton-Ciré flooring (or the surface to be worked on) very thoroughly by vacuuming it and carefully rubbing it with a scraping sponge. Soapy water dissolves fats.

  2. Then vacuum carefully again after drying. Remove tile adhesive residues or other stubborn residues with a wire brush.

  3. Gaps in the edge insulation strips should be sealed by either replacing them or by using an acrylic cover in the event of minor damage. Now vacuum everything thoroughly again.

  4. Now prime the floor with a PU sealing material to block any residual moisture in the floor. Another advantage of the PU primer is that the filler does not lose too much moisture later on by soaking up the subfloor. Do the do-it-yourself run twice. Work with a role.

  5. Leveling the concrete floor - this is how it works

Do you have an uneven concrete floor with cracks and the like in your basement? …

  6. The surface is then processed with a plate grinding machine with a pad disc until it has a good grip.

  7. Now comes the primer, which has to be applied with a roller and serves as a so-called bonding bridge. A single pass is sufficient.

The leveling compound of the Beton Ciré is applied

This work is the most tedious.

  1. Mix each sack of filler with the specified amount of water; For example, you need 6 liters for a Thomsit SL 85 filler. If, for example, you are aiming for a thickness of 5 millimeters for the Beton Ciré, this results in an area to be coated of a little more than three square meters.
  2. Let this layer of filler harden for at least 24 hours.

Finally it is sealed

  1. After a drying time of at least 24 hours, two layers of PU seal are applied again. Work with the role again.

  2. A drying time of 12 to 24 hours is to be expected here in order to allow the seal of the now finished Beton Ciré to dry out completely.

If you want to make a Beton-Ciré floor yourself, you should consult a hardware store in order to coordinate all materials, tools and work processes as perfectly as possible.
