If you want to train your dog with a difficult exercise, then boil chicken hearts and use them specifically as a jackpot reward. There is hardly a four-legged friend who can resist this delicacy.

Use chicken hearts as a special reward

If you want to train your dog with something that is very difficult for him, then you should have something in hand that "convinces" him to do this exercise correctly.

  • A classic example is the recall in anti-hunting training. If the dog sees a deer, you call him back, and he comes to you despite the hunting instinct, he has earned a great reward. In this case, also be generous with the gift of the chicken hearts.
  • But you can also reward a sequence of correctly executed commands with a jackpot. This is useful, for example, if you train for agility or dog dance. Feel free to show your dog the chicken hearts and place them in a bowl on the floor. But he is not allowed to take it. Only when he has correctly jumped 5 hurdles or has run 10 meters slalom through his legs without making any mistakes. Then say "Jackpot" and send your dog to the bowl to eat.
  • From time to time you can also use a super treat in normal training. Just give a piece of chicken heart for a very simple exercise like a "seat". Your dog will be surprised because he did not expect this and will be eager to participate for the next few minutes, hoping that this surprise will repeat itself.

Boil the hearts in a saucepan

  1. You can buy the poultry hearts frozen or raw at the butcher. You should boil them for dog training, then they smell even more irresistible and can also be cut into small bites.
  2. Use the leash correctly - this is how it works

If you have a dog that has a good hunting instinct, you can ...

  3. Put the hearts raw or frozen in a saucepan. Then add enough water to completely cover them.
  4. Now turn on the stove and let the water with the hearts be approx. Cook for 15 minutes. Then turn off the stove and just let the hearts cool down.
  5. You can then remove the hearts from the liquid with a slotted spoon and place them on a board. You can cut the hearts 1 or 2 more times for a treat.
  6. Keep the boiled liquid. You can later use the Lining water the dog or, for example, soak dried vegetables for barfing.
