Exercise suggestions for successful shooting training

  • Before the correct shooting training begins, your shooting technique should of course be brushed up again. To do this, take 5 to 10 balls and place them about 5 meters away on a line parallel to the goal. Now make the movements of a real shot at a very slow pace and also choose a corner beforehand into which you want to shoot the ball.
  • Once you've mastered this exercise of shooting training, you can pick up the pace on the second pass increase, but think primarily of the right technique and the optimal distance when making movements to the ball. If you feel safe, you can also vary the distance to the gate.
  • The exercise works best if you take turns shooting with a partner and the passive player corrects each other's technique.
  • For the next exercise, start at the center line from which you pass the ball to another player who is about 20 meters in front of the goal. This first places the ball flat on you (about 15 to 20 m in front of the goal) and you shoot directly. Always try to place two shots in a row in the same corner.
  • You can vary the exercise by having the attacker alternately place the ball on the strong and weak foot, lift it so that the "striker" has to take the volley, etc.
  • Speed strength training for soccer - this is how it works

More and more often you have the feeling that you are not ...

  • If you have mastered this exercise of shooting training, you can install a slalom (about 5 cones) instead of the pass to the teammate, after which you have to put the ball in front of yourself to shoot. Here, too, shooting should take place in a certain zone (15 to 20 m in front of the goal).
  • Then you set up the slalom on the edge of the penalty area parallel to the gate. The aim of this exercise is for the player to optimize the half-turn shot. Do this exercise from both sides so that you have to shoot with both feet.
  • Another great exercise for shooting training is shooting after a back pass. A player stands at the cross between the penalty area line and the outer goal line and plays the balls relatively tightly towards the center of the penalty area. The player without the ball runs towards the ball at full speed and tries to accommodate it in the goal with his full tension.
