DHL parcel label lost
A parcel label like before is no longer available at DHL - it was either replaced by the Internet order or a receipt on thermal paper in the branch. What can you do if this certificate is lost?
Parcel labels and their loss
The receipts that are used as parcel labels today are a bit problematic. Heat, glue, or solvents can make them easily illegible. They are also easily lost because they are reminiscent of receipts.
- As long as everything goes well, it is not a problem if you have lost the parcel label or if it has become illegible. The recipient receives the package, if he does not accept it or if he does not pick it up, you will get it back. The postage receipt from DHL is therefore normally no longer required.
- In order to have the shipment tracked, you do not need the parcel label itself, but the identification number printed there. If you have franked the parcel online and are registered as a customer, you only need to log in to track the shipment. In this case, the parcel label is unimportant for DHL. Then it doesn't matter if you've lost it.
Loss reports / compensation to DHL
It becomes more difficult if the package is lost or the contents have been damaged. In this case, you don't necessarily need the parcel label, but you always need the tracking number. In the case of a loss report, also the parcel label.
- If a package has not arrived, i.e. has disappeared without a trace, download the form for the Research if the content has been corrupted that is responsible for the Damage report.
- Since you have to prove the delivery in the event that the parcel is lost, it is very problematic if you do not have the parcel label. Nevertheless, the tracking number alone is used to find the whereabouts of the package, if you are lucky it will be found.
