Sending an express letter abroad - this is the best way to do it

  • You can either do this at your trusted post office or you can prepare your shipment online and save money in the process.
  • It makes sense to provide the "normal" letter with the "International Express" option for time and cost reasons. This means that your express letter will be delivered abroad as quickly as possible.
  • Throughout Europe, delivery usually takes place within two working days. On the other hand, deliveries to more remote, poorly accessible areas can also take up to four resp. five working days.
  • It should also be taken into account that urgent delivery is not possible in every country. In most cases, however, it is possible for Deutsche Post customers to find out where the express letter is currently thanks to the (online) shipment tracking in more than 30 countries.

This is the quickest way to do it cheaply

  • If you want pre-franking for an express letter abroad, for example via the Internet, decide, it is best to choose the "Basic rate for the letter" option, ie the standard rate for the letter International. In addition, select the "net postage" amount for the international express letter. The surcharge for postage is EUR 3.45.

  • When preparing your shipment, make sure that the registered label is properly placed on the envelope: either to the right of the window respectively. above or - in the case of windowless envelopes - to the left or right of the address.
  • Last but not least, position the express label on the top left of the front of the letter. The placement under the address field is also correct.
