How to open KML files

  1. Start the installed software after the installation is complete if you want to open several KML files at the same time. If you only want to open a single KML file, it is faster: double-click on File. Google Earth will then start automatically and the file will load.

  2. In the software window you will find the "Open ..." option in the "File" menu (top left in the window) (this dialog may differ for software other than "Google Earth"!).

  3. After you have selected "Open", a window in your file manager will appear. This is where you find your KML files. To do this, navigate to the folder where they are stored.

  4. The KML files are now loaded into the software. Depending on the size and scope of the individual KML files, this can take some time.
