Lock the Base's SIM card

  • Your mobile phone has been stolen or you have lost it and must now block your base card. If you have the number of Base's blocking hotline at hand (0163/1140), you can easily call this service and have your card blocked.
  • To do this, you need your phone number, your customer password or your PUK.
  • You can use this number to apply for a new SIM card at the same time. Since you have a duty of care towards your card, there are fees of € 15.00. Base itself is only liable from an amount of € 50.00 - but only in the event that the customer is not to blame for the loss of his card.

Block the card online

You can also choose to have your SIM card blocked via the Base homepage.

  1. To do this, log in to "My Account" and select the "My SIM Card" option.
  2. Determine the SIM card number

Each SIM card has its own number for identification. Find this card number ...

  3. Under "Block" you inform the customer center that your card should be blocked. You can get a new card in a Base shop or via the hotline.
  4. Your phone number is retained.

Cell phone and card lost

  • A loss of the cell phone does not have to be. If you take care of it and do not carry it in your back pocket even when you are on holiday, it is next to impossible to lose it.
  • However, if your phone is lost, the first thing to do is to block your SIM card. In this way you avoid additional costs for third-party calls that you have to pay - regardless of whether you were the caller or not.
  • If your cell phone is found, you may have to prove that it really is your cell phone. The IMEI number will help you with this. So it is helpful to write down this number somewhere before you lose it. You can find it in your mobile phone menu under "Settings".
  • In any case, stay calm in the event of a loss. Since you have had your card blocked at Base, you are on the safe side.
