Dry roses with hair care products
Often one would like to preserve a single rose - or even a beautiful bouquet - permanently. With a few measures, hairspray and hair lacquer, the rose can be made permanent.
A bouquet of flowers, especially of course roses, which often contain a symbolic meaning in addition to the flower, should be made durable. So beyond the fading of the beautiful rose blossom, the memory of the moment can be permanently kept alive.
You can also dry roses without the use of hairspray or hair lacquer. Often, however, you miss the right moment when the blossom of the rose has maximum freshness and development, so that the rose after it has been removed from the vase can often no longer be used for drying, but rather shrinks or rot will.
Preserve flowers with hairspray
Especially beginners, who like to face problems with dry bouquets, can easily preserve roses and Co. with the help of hairspray.
You should cut roses that still have closed flowers at an angle so that the plant can supply itself with water and nutrients. Leave the rose that you want to dry with hairspray in the vase for a few days, with or without "fresh flowers".
As soon as the rose is in full bloom, you should take it out of the vase. Let it hang for a few hours on a piece of string - without coming into contact with walls or objects - in a dark and well-ventilated place so that excess moisture can still evaporate.
Spray the rose that you want to dry with hairspray or hair lacquer from approx. 20 cm away completely, especially the flower should be treated. Wait approx. 5 minutes until the hairspray or hair lacquer has dried and repeat the process again. In this way you ensure an airtight layer with the lacquer of the hairspray or hair lacquer, so that the moisture and freshness are preserved.
After drying again, you can leave the rose to dry and conserve in a dark room. If the roses were still quite fresh, you can carefully wrap them with newspaper and then let them hang to dry with hairspray after the treatment. This way, light will not have a negative effect on drying the roses with hairspray. Instead of the dark room, newsprint can protect your roses accordingly.
