Would you like to set up several options for booting or configure the existing boot menu differently? With EasyBCD you can change the Windows Start Manager in just a few, uncomplicated steps.

You have several operating systems and want to select which system is started from a boot menu. With on-board resources from Windows these tasks are to be mastered. However, you have to make the settings via command lines, which is quite complex for newbies. A simple tool that makes it easier for you to configure the boot menu is EasyBCD. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can easily set up the Windows Start Manager. And what's more, EasyBCD is free.

Configuration of the Windows Start Manager via EasyBCD

  1. Download (for example at chip.de) and install EasyBCD on your Windows system.
  2. Start the program. If you click on the "View Settings" button, the settings and entries of the Windows Start Manager are displayed. For more detailed information, click on "Detailed (Debug Mode)" above.
  3. To change the boot menu, click on the "Edit Boot Menu" button. The various boot entries are now displayed in the window on the right. You can change the order of the entries by clicking on "Up" or "Down". You can rename the boot entries by clicking on "Rename".
  4. If you no longer need an entry, you can delete it with "Delete". To determine which entry is booted by default, check the box next to "Yes" for the desired boot entry. In addition, you can set below how long the boot menu should be displayed or whether you want to skip it.
