At the To wash in the machine you can do more wrong than you think. The correct dosage of detergent plays an important role.

Choosing the right detergent

  • Not all laundry is the same. Because towels and bed linen require different care than, for example, a soft cashmere sweater or an elegant silk dress. There are various detergents for this, which are geared to the special needs of textiles. You should always sort your laundry and not just throw everything into the drum, add detergent and you're done!
  • The most common and initially rough distinction between detergents is the following: detergents for whites, coloreds and mild detergents.
  • Cottons include everything that can or must be washed with hot water, such as baby clothes, bed linen, towels and so on. The textiles are mostly made of cotton and can withstand high temperatures.
  • Colored laundry means that different colors are washed together (but be careful, you should still only wash similar colors together, so not the red blouse together with the white shirt), which cannot be washed as hot as whites, but are made of easy-care materials. The best solution here is a color detergent that is gentle on the colors so that your garments shine for a long time.
  • Correctly dose detergent - this is how it works

  • You should use mild detergents when washing delicate fabrics. This is for example wool, cashmere or silk. The mild detergent is gentle on the sensitive fibers and does not adhere so strongly to the textiles that they do not have to be washed out so intensively. That saves the fibers.
  • In addition, there are also special detergents that are suitable for sportswear such as softshell and, above all, unpleasant ones Smells remove. If you do a lot of sport and have a lot of sportswear to wash, you should get a detergent like this.

How to use the dispensing aid

  • Almost all common liquid detergents have an integrated dosing aid in the cap or lid. How can you estimate by feeling how much detergent you need to get your laundry clean?
  • If you unscrew and turn the lid of the detergent, you will see that there is a graduated scale inside (at least in most of them). The inside of the lid is considered a sealing cap.
  • With normal water quality, you will need less detergent than with hard water (that is, how chalky the water is). In principle, the more soiled it is, the more detergent you will need.
  • With normal water hardness and normal soiling, you should add 75 ml of detergent to the dispenser. This corresponds roughly to a sealing cap.
  • The more soiled the laundry, the more washing powder you will need. In the case of heavily soiled laundry, you should add twice the amount to the dosing aid.
  • This also applies to particularly hard water quality. As a minimum, you should fill two caps with detergent, or three caps for heavily soiled laundry so that everything is clean.
