What you need:

  • DHCP server
  • LAN cable
  • Teammates

Set up LAN network

In addition to the classic single player version, you can also use Age of Mythology on the Internet WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS or play LAN. Of course, the multiplayer mode against human opponents offers much more fun than the single player version.

  • For the LAN-Game you must first have your computer with a LANcable connect and set up a network.
  • If your computer has a DHCP server, your IP addresses are assigned automatically and you normally do not need to make any further settings in the network environment.
  • If your computer does not have a DHCP server, you have to assign the IP addresses manually. To do this, go to the network neighborhood of the control panel and click on properties for the TCP / IP protocol. Now assign the IP address for each computer manually, e.g. the address 192.168.1.1 for computer 1 and the address 192.168.1.2 for computer 2.
  • Now start Age of Mythology and let a player create a LAN game. The other player should now see the other player's game in the multiplayer menu and be able to join it.

Play Age of Mythology in multiplayer mode

  • If your LAN connection is successful, you as the game master can set the game form of Age of Mythology, the opponents and the level of difficulty.
  • There are a total of seven different forms of play, in which you have different victory conditions. In Conquest mode, for example, you cannot win a game until you have eliminated all opponents.
  • For your first try at the game, you should set the standard mode for playing. If you have got used to the multiplayer game, then you can also try out other game forms in order to always face new challenges and thus maintain the fun of the game.
