Insert the Sky card in the receiver - this is how you do it correctly

  • Sky is the largest pay-TV provider in Germany, but the programs are encrypted.
  • Your Sky card is the key to the variety of Sky programs.
  • In conjunction with the Sky certified receiver, the Sky card is responsible for decoding the programs.
  • Only the correct insertion of the Sky card in the receiver enables you to watch the Sky programs on your TV.

Check that the card is in place correctly

Take the description of your Sky-certified receiver at hand. There it is described whether the contact surfaces of the Sky map must point upwards or downwards. If there are several card slots, it is also important which card slot is intended for the Sky card. You can also find help on the Sky homepage. As a Sky customer, you can of course also log into the Sky customer area. There you can z. B. Contact customer support by email and get extra help. Sky receiver does not work - what to do?

With a digital receiver you can receive all satellite programs in a high quality ...

  1. Normally, the Sky card is inserted into the card slot provided in the receiver with the contact surfaces of the chip facing forwards and downwards.
  2. The contact surfaces of the chip on your Smartcard from Sky must establish a connection with the contact surfaces of the card reader in the receiver. Only then can the Sky card be read and decrypted.
  3. If you have inserted the Sky card upside down in the receiver, this contact will not be made. In this case, a message will also appear on your television set. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  4. If you can already see a picture of a Sky program on your TV, you've done everything right.
  5. In the event that you cannot see a picture on your TV, remove the card, turn the card over horizontally, and then push it back in.

You should now see a picture. If the image is still not decrypted, contact Sky. It could be that your Sky card has not yet been activated.
