Polishing aluminum for the wow factor

  • Mainly with old machines, aluminum used to be the standard; when properly polished, the machine looked like new and immediately caught people's eyes.
  • For a while, aluminum had disappeared from the scene, but nowadays the benefits and beauty of aluminum are known again. Machines with aluminum are appearing on the market more and more often, but many do not know how it is properly cared for and how to put it in the limelight.
  • Aluminum that has not been polished to a high gloss does not look like anything and suggests that the driver does not love his machine with all his heart. Because only a driver who loves his machine will polish every little piece of aluminum.
  • Polishing aluminum doesn't cost a lot of money, but it takes a lot of time. You have to polish the aluminum parts on your motorcycle regularly to maintain the chrome effect. If you forget to polish for a while, your aluminum will quickly become matt and your motorcycle will no longer look beautiful.

Anyone who loves their motorcycle takes care of it

  1. The first thing you need to do is have the tools you need on hand. For aluminum parts, you need a tube of chrome or aluminum polish and two cotton cloths.
  2. Motorcycle chrome polish

  3. Apply the polish with the smaller cloth, use your muscles and rub the polish in well and evenly with a little force. Then take the larger cotton cloth and polish the aluminum bright again, rub the black aluminum oxide off thoroughly.
  4. After a few minutes of polishing, the parts will shine like new. If blind spots or scratches are visible on your aluminum, then either remove them with a soaped steel wool cushion or use chrome polish. You are already familiar with the process from the actual polishing.

Please note, however, that this process only works on smooth aluminum. The parts must not be painted or have any other surface treatment.
