What you need:

  • 4 x oak wood panels
  • 1 x circular saw
  • 1 x drill
  • 25 x wood screws
  • 2 x screw hinges
  • 1 x impregnation agent
  • 1 x brush
  • 1 x wood drill 5 mm
  • 1 x orbital sander
  • 1 x sandpaper
  • 1 x door handle
  • 1 x locking mechanism

With the help of the following instructions you can build a washing machine base cabinet from sturdy oak wood.

Cut the wood for the washing machine base cabinet

  1. Since your washing machine base cabinet has to withstand a lot of stress, use 5 cm thick oak wood as a building material. Cut the base plate and the cover plate of the washing machine cabinet to the dimensions 80 cm x 100 cm. The two side parts are each cut to a size of 80 cm x 60 cm.
  2. Cut a door from 1 cm thick oak wood to the dimensions 100 cm x 60 cm. You can buy two large screw hinges as well as a door handle and a locking mechanism for this door at your trusted hardware store. Your washing machine base cabinet does not have a back wall, so that you can easily access the water supply of your washing machine.
  3. Then drill 5 equally spaced holes on the 80 cm sides of the base plate and the top plate, 2.5 cm from the outer edge wood.

Assemble the lockable piece of furniture

  1. After you have drilled the holes, screw the side parts between the head plate and the foot plate of the cabinet.
  2. Build a wall unit for the kitchen yourself

There are people who simply build their own kitchen equipment. That is …

  3. Then screw the two screw hinges on the left inside and then attach the door with screws.
  4. The complete washing machine cabinet is then sanded with fine sandpaper.
  5. When that's done, impregnate the wood with a specially made impregnation agent.
  6. Finally, attach the door handle and the locking mechanism, and your washing machine base cabinet is ready.

Note: At ribbons you should use a protective mask.
