Tinker wooden figures from medium-thick branches for the garden
You want to make wooden figures yourself for your garden. The easiest way to do this is with medium-thick branches with a diameter of around 12 to 20 cm. You can place three such figures next to each other with different diameters and heights.
- First, create a straight edge at the bottom of each branch so that the branch is stable and cannot fall over even in light winds.
- Then a bevel is sawn at an angle of about 45 degrees at a height of about 30 to 50 cm. Sand this cut surface completely smooth with sandpaper. Then you can paint a face for the wooden figures on the slope. The nose consists of a wooden ball, which you can also paint in red and then stick in the middle. You can buy ready-made "googly eyes" in the craft shop or you can burn your eyes and laughing mouth with a hot branding iron.
- You can now saw the headgear of your wooden garden figures out of felt or a board. It is easier if you use felt, but you have to put your figures under when it rains. The headgear is an upside-down stylized tulip with a stem and a leaf. When it is finished, sand the tulip smooth with sandpaper. Then you can paint the headgear, the stem and leaf in a rich green and the flower in red or yellow. Now paint the face and also the headgear with colorless paint 2 to 3 times.
- Now stick the flower upside down over the face and your wooden figures for the garden are almost ready. Because now you can tie a tie or a silk scarf around the wooden figures or nail an artificial flower to the trunk ("to the district").
