Gas boiler does not start
If the gas boiler does not start, there are only a few causes that you can and are allowed to eliminate yourself. But you should know these before calling a specialist.
Important information about gas boilers
In everything you do, keep in mind that gas heaters are operated with highly explosive gas. For this reason, you must not and should not attempt to repair these yourself:
- In order for the gas boiler to start, it needs gas, air and an ignition spark. The first thing to do is to see if the throttle is on. Perhaps this was turned off over the summer and of course the gas boiler cannot start without gas.
- It could also be due to the power supply. Are the indicator lights lit? If not, the power supply may be interrupted, a main switch has been switched off or the safety switch has tripped. See if it could be because of that and turn the current back to.
- Is there enough air in the room or is a flap on the chimney closed? Many gas boilers draw the air they need through the chimney. If the supply air is switched off, the gas boiler does not start. Look to see if something can be adjusted there.

Help if it doesn't start
Sometimes the electronics are just spinning, similar to what can happen with PCs. For some reason there was a message in this, which means that the gas boiler no longer starts.
- Look at the display of the gas boiler that does not start. Are there letters and numbers there? Write this down and look in the manual that the gas boiler belongs to and what it means. Mostly there is also what you can do there.
- Unless explicitly stated otherwise in the manual, press the "Reset" button. A code usually appears now too. Write this down too. If there was just an electronic error without a real cause, the gas boiler will now start.
- If the gas boiler still does not start, then switch it on for approx. one minute off the fuse in the power box, which belongs to the thermal bath. Sometimes the gas boiler starts up again.
If your gas boiler still does not start or you cannot find anything about the error codes in the operating instructions, then call customer service. Name the error codes that you know there and describe the error as precisely as possible.
