If you want to have warm feet in the bathroom, you don't need to have underfloor heating installed. Floor heating could be a better alternative.

Difference between underfloor heating and heating

  • Underfloor heating is a heating system in which hot water, which is heated by a boiler, is passed through special elements that are laid in the floor. With modern floor heating systems, the flow temperature is limited to 35 degrees Celsius, the difference between the flow and return temperatures is five degrees Celsius. A normal heating system is operated with temperatures around 60 degrees Celsius. Occasionally there is also underfloor heating that is over current operate.

  • If you are already renewing the floor of a room as part of renovation measures, you can easily install a floor heating system at a later date. You should consider this option if you are renovating an old building that heater but not completely renewed. The installation of underfloor heating that works via the heating circuit is almost impossible in this case. The possibility of installing underfloor heating that is powered by electricity is an uneconomical alternative. If you want warm feet, floor heating is the most sensible solution.
  • The decision in favor of underfloor heating also makes sense if you opt for heating with flow temperatures of over 50 degrees Celsius for a new building. Here, however, you also have the option of installing two heating circuits with a complex control system in order to use underfloor heating and radiators for heating. The installation of the combination system is more expensive, but feasible.

The trend in new buildings is towards low-temperature heating systems, which are often used with underfloor heating anyway. In addition, special low-temperature radiators are usually used. With this solution, there is no need to heat the floor.
